The dating game can send an otherwise fearless man cowering at the prospect of actually ‘talking’ to a woman and asking her to go out with him. All is not lost, however. To start you off, H. Darren Porter and Brad Kersey in The Dating Weasel: A Remedial Dating Course for Men present a humorous quiz to test how well the reader understands women. When you work out your score, don’t be alarmed that you don’t understand women at all. Nobody really does. The Dating Weasel Method Remedial Course starts with a few ‘truths,’ reassuring the reader that it is okay to be dishonest and deceitful toward the opposite sex because they started it first! However, dating has always been a perilous undertaking and the authors are careful to provide some disclaimers to readers wanting to survive into old age. The course is not designed to help you understand women, but how to date them!
Even though all males fantasize about meeting a perfect woman, the authors warn men not to pursue gorgeous goddesses because they are destructive forces apt to leave your heart and bank balance in tatters. Hurricanes don’t have female names for nothing. Date someone who looks like you wearing a wig and you won’t be disappointed. You could look for a date in a singles’ bar, but approach with caution. Get there before the place gets too crowded, rush in, grab the smallest woman you can find and drag her out before you succumb to alcohol. Every moment you linger inside decreases your chance of survival. Oh, yes. To show you are different from the other guys, tell her you hate watching sport on TV! Everybody knows that you should NEVER get into a relationship at your workplace, that’s why women are so keen to start one. So, if everything else fails and you are desperate, this is your last fallback position.
Once you have taken that deep breath and summoned up enough courage to ask the girl of your dreams out on a date, how exactly should you go about doing that…and survive the experience? And when she says ‘yes’ and you are out dining, how do you lure her into a second date? Well, you will just have to read Porter and Kersey’s superbly written The Dating Weasel survival guide and find out. Warning: Even when you have done everything right and you hear the tinkle of wedding bells, it might not be ‘exactly’ what you wanted…
Within the first few pages reading this fascinating book, it had me chuckling, laughing, and nodding solemnly. The authors have clearly experienced a few emotional bruises at the hands of the female of the species, but survived to impart lessons learned to fellow men brave enough to try their hand at wooing a girl. One piece of advice: don’t read the book looking for a tip when you are actually out with her!
