An ancient evil has reawakened in modern America and the heroes of the present must find a way to connect with the powers of different realms from the past to conquer it. A number of characters discover that they have a part to play in this battle and each discovers his or her true strength as they face the possibility that mankind will be wiped out. The Faithful and the Damned: Demon of the Swamp by Edmund A. Wise Jr. tells the story of the courage each character finds hidden deep within themselves as they are drawn to a quiet New England town where unspeakable evil has been born. From the mountain man Jacob to the child Ferdi, as well as characters from myth and legend such as Merlin and King Arthur, everyone involved comes to understand the power of love and faith so that the evil can be defeated.

The Faithful and the Damned: Demon of the Swamp by Edmund A. Wise Jr. blends elements of ancient legends with the modern issues of finding strength through commitment as the forces and followers of evil try to ruin life in the towns surrounding the Hockamock Swamp. Trips to mythological lands allow some of the characters to obtain magical help while others are forced to confront demons and deviates face to face. There is plenty of action as well as heartfelt emotion as the demons grow stronger and the people realize that a choice has to be made. Will they have the courage to do what is necessary to defeat what the police have no control over or will evil take over the town?
