The Keeper (Crossing Realms Book 1) by Rebecca E. Neely is a paranormal fiction book with romantic elements to it. The Keeper will appeal most to an adult audience that enjoys paranormal fiction with hints of romance. The story follows Nick Geary, clan leader of human guardians, and Libby Klink, an accountant who is scared of her own intuitions. Nick Geary has saved Libby Klink many times and has fallen in love with her - yet being a guardian means that the humans he comes into contact with are left with no memory of him; meaning his love, Libby Klink, has no idea who he is. That all changes when the Watchers send a transmission stating that Libby Klink is the only hope of defeating the Betrayers. Nick Geary and Libby Klink are forced to work together to destroy the Betrayers and save the day.
Nick Geary and Libby Klink embody such a tragic romance in that Nick is doomed to love Libby without her even knowing who he is. My favorite part of The Keeper is when the pair begins to work together and Libby begins to fall in love with Nick. The Keeper truly has an amazing story line that is both unique and intriguing. When I finished reading The Keeper, I was left feeling excited at the prospect of book two in the Crossing Realms series.
