The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol is an educational, fun story for younger readers. The Know It Owl is on a journey to meet and learn about beluga whales. He’s on a mission to discover the truth about these whales and correct common misconceptions, but beware – he hasn’t lost his sarcastic touch! His conversations with the whale are enlightening and fun, and the illustrations will capture your heart as you learn everything about these amazing animals. Learn about their habitat, anatomy, feeding habits, and so much more, as Know It Owl sets you – and the sporty whale – straight on lots of things. Laugh and have fun while you learn in the next installment of the Know It Owl series.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol is part of the Know It Owl series, each of which features a different animal. I’ve read another book in the series, and this one was just as much fun to read. The story is educational, as it teaches readers about beluga whales, but in a fun way. Each page is divided into two: the beluga whale’s perspective on things and the Know It Owl setting things straight with the facts. The illustrations by Paula Piechna are stunning, bringing the words to life on each page and helping kids understand better. It’s also an interactive book, with the opportunity for kids – or parents – to give the owl and the whale their own voices. There are lots of little puzzles scattered throughout, as well as measurements in colored pencils. And at the end of the book are some fast facts and an exercise for readers to learn how to draw a beluga whale. If you want your kids to learn about animals, you can’t go wrong with this series.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol is a well-written book that teaches children facts about the beluga whale. A beluga whale tries to describe itself to a wise owl, but the owl corrects the misconceptions and incorrect facts about the beluga whale. This book offers information about where the beluga whale lives, how it socializes with others, the different sounds it makes, its coloration, and how this helps them camouflage themselves. Terri includes interesting facts about the beluga whale’s internal anatomy, which includes the percentage of blubber in their body, their dentition, the shape of their head, which plays a critical role in echolocation, and more. This book is an amazing way to help children develop a love for animals.

Although this book was written for kids, as an adult, I learned a lot from it. It cleared up the misconceptions I had about the beluga whale. I was fascinated by the fact that the beluga whale lacks dorsal fins. I loved the illustrations by Paula Piechna, and these colorful pages make the book more appealing to young readers. I researched all the facts in this book, and I was impressed that they were all correct. The writing is well-paced, concise, straightforward, and easy to comprehend. The inclusion of puzzles is thoughtful, as it makes the book more interactive for kids. I found this book entertaining and educational. I recommend The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol to all young readers and anyone who enjoys learning about animals.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol is an entertaining educational book for children that aims to teach them about beluga whales. The story follows a thoughtful conversation between an informative owl and a beluga whale, who stretches the truth about its species. Through their dialogue, readers will learn how social and friendly belugas are, as well as why they can thrive in the cold waters of the Arctic Ocean. Owl and Beluga discuss their unique features, such as the beluga's distinct, rounded forehead and its lack of a dorsal fin. Beluga also highlights its extraordinary ability to sing, emphasizing how belugas can mimic sounds and use echolocation to find food. Children will engage in activities like measuring with a coloring pencil length system, solving a maze, and learning how to draw a beluga whale.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga is an engaging book that combines entertaining dialogue with fun activities to educate young readers about belugas. The characters are delightful, making it easy to fall in love with them. Owl’s recurring phrase, 'What a tale, Beluga Whale,' adds a playful touch, especially when he corrects Beluga. Terri Sabol’s narrative is attention-grabbing with relatable elements for children and imparts valuable lessons about the importance of protecting endangered animals. Paula Piechna’s illustrations wonderfully complement the text, bringing the characters to life. Since this book is part of the Know It Owl series, I look forward to reading more to learn about the beautiful creatures in nature. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves educational literature that fosters an appreciation for animals and nature in children.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga is a children’s educational picture book written by Terri Sabol, with illustrations by Paula Piechna. The story follows Beluga Whale as he shares fun facts about his species, accompanied by an intelligent and humorous owl who corrects Beluga Whale's claims. Belugas live in the cold waters of the Arctic Ocean but can also inhabit warmer waters by migrating during different seasons. Throughout the book, the characters discuss topics such as pods, the unique head shape of belugas, and how it helps in echolocation, and the reason belugas do not have dorsal fins like other sea creatures. Learn about belugas’ swimming speed, their diet, body structure, and whether they can be a great pet.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga is part of The Know It Owl series, which aims to teach children about different animals. I enjoyed reading this book. I discovered that belugas can imitate sounds and are peaceful creatures that swim in family groups. Terri Sabol’s narrative combines humor with engaging dialogue between the characters. The owl’s fact-checking of Beluga’s exaggerated claims is very entertaining. The book also features interactive activities that young readers can enjoy with friends and family, such as drawing, a search-and-find game, and navigating through an ice maze. The vibrant illustrations beautifully capture aquatic life and complement the facts. The author conveys a heartfelt message about the importance of animal rehabilitation and the protection of animals from extinction. Overall, this is a wonderful read that encourages youngsters to explore aquatic life and develop an appreciation for nature.

The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol is a charming and educational children's book about the Know It Owl—a fact-checker bird—and the Beluga, an arctic whale. Know It Owl and Beluga are having an interesting conversation, as Beluga shares different humorous and incorrect facts about its species, like living in tropical waters and being a fast swimmer. The Know-it-Owl corrects Beluga's statements with accurate information about Beluga whales, such as their Arctic habitat, social behavior, and physical characteristics. This is a fun book for kids to learn about Beluga whales.

The playful tone makes the book engaging, but it also makes kids want to learn more. While I loved the approach of using a conversation between an owl and a whale, what made it more special was that the whale was always making mistakes, which were corrected by the owl. I won't forget any features of the whale because of this approach. It's just like learning from my mistakes, and some of the incorrect facts the whale said were what I thought were true, so this book has also taught me something. The illustrations by Paula Piechna are vibrant, eye-catching, and expressive, and capture the personalities of the characters, making the information visually appealing. There are some fun activities, like the game to help the Beluga out of an ice floe. The "Dear Reader" section at the end adds a personal touch and passes a good message about animal welfare and conservation. The Know It Owl and the Beluga by Terri Sabol is a great book, and I recommend it to elementary kids who love to learn about animals.
