The Legend of the ICant's by Rhonda D. Ross M.Ed. is a very witty and unique story of the ICan't family that struggles every day to get things right. Ino and Maybea meet and fall in love and they have two children, Ussed and Eissed. Whatever they do goes wrong. The story sees the family undergoing transformation when they replace the words "I can't" with the magic words "I can." The underlying message that it is the way we look at life which makes it what it is, indeed, is inspirational. Will we see them replacing their surname with Ican by the time the story ends?
The book's plot can have a positive influence on young readers. The book is equally motivational for adults. It speaks about the power of faith and hope. Change can be brought about in daily routine, which in turn can actually bring about positive results. Written keeping child readers in mind, the book does a great job in building up self esteem and faith in kids. Reading this story is a great learning experience for kids and the illustrations add to the charm of the tale.
The concept is smart and thought provoking and put across in a clever way. It is a good book for read-aloud sessions in classrooms and it also makes a good bedtime story. I recommend this story to all kids and Ussed and Eissed, along with their parents, will charm readers.
