The Magic Seeker is Marla Martenson’s story of her spiritual awakening. For almost twenty years, Marla was a professional matchmaker, and everyone was curious about what it was like to be a real-life Cupid. Marla's husband had watched her go from being a successful businesswoman with a spiritual side to a spiritually awakened person over the past few years. Marla wanted to diversify and increase her income by utilizing some of her other talents, such as energy healing, channeling, crystal grids, and more. Marla attended an event called “The Circle of Light,” where a participant channeled the spirit of a Native American called Chief Red Eagle. It did not take Marla long to realize that her experience with Red Eagle was just the beginning and that she had to accept the fact that her life would never be the same.

The characters and events in The Magic Seeker are real, and Marla Martenson shares her journey of magic with her readers. Marla has a remarkable talent for putting into words some of the most unique circumstances she has come across while looking for the magic. I was captivated from the start until the end and could not put it down. Honestly and on occasion with humor, Marla shares her day-to-day struggles with marriage, friendships, family, and her matchmaking business. I admired Marla's courage and determination in following her guidance despite protests from her devoted husband. Red Eagle is a wise man who can transmit knowledge in a variety of fields. He taught Marla that she alone is responsible for her happiness and that love is a relationship with herself. Reading Marla's memoir was enjoyable, and her accomplishments have encouraged me spiritually.
