The Mile Highness by Frank Manner is the story of a rapper’s struggle to make his mark in the industry and the struggle new, aspiring musicians have to go through. Scott Free had a normal life, a satisfying job and a loving family. However, he wanted to be a rapper. Music was his passion and he would go to any lengths to make his dreams come true. He leaves his job and his family behind to enter a competition that can jump start his career and get him a contract from a major record label. But winning is not easy.

Because of some events he becomes entangled with a gangster. A gang boss who knows no bounds, a music producer who is corrupt, and a rival who will do anything to break him down and steal his business, and Frank is regretting putting distance between himself and his family. With so much against him, can he keep his sight and mind on the right path or will he be diverted from the path and taken down the wrong road?

What a delightful, adventurous and thrilling ride. Frank Manner has given us a clear picture of what fame can do to a person. The novel was beautifully written and the characters were well developed. When I say it was well written I mean it; I have not come across such a novel in a long time, and I read a lot. All in all, a great novel that will grab your attention from the moment you set eyes on the cover.
