The author has done an excellent job of maintaining an air of mystery throughout the book, only revealing the secret at the end in the intense climax. The author's vivid descriptions of the characters, events, and settings make it easy for readers to picture the action. The characters are well-developed, especially the protagonist, whose entire life is laid bare for the reader in an engaging and relatable way. All the characters are given balanced exposure, which adds depth to the plot.
