The Paladin's Message is the second entry in The Keepers of White series by Richard Crofton, a supernatural story that explores in a creative manner the proverbial conflict between good and evil; a tale with many twists and surprises that will leave readers with one certain thought ... nothing is what it appears to be. Readers are introduced to a world where agents of darkness are planning a gory event and they are about to do great harm to the gifted group of people who for centuries have been fighting to protect humanity. We encounter cunning characters like Fr. Paul Cunningham, whose apparent goodness entices Megan Panco to trust him completely. No one knows that the priest is an agent of darkness and is about to enable one of the deadliest schemes in preparation for the fifth new moon. When Megan is abducted, can the love of her life, Sonny Williams, and the gifted good souls find her before it is too late?
This is a story with a complex plot and sophisticated characters. One of the enigmatic characters is Cliff, the disguised homeless man, a man with a grudge, and readers will be intrigued about his role in the plot. Is he really who he pretends to be? The story has strong hints of horror. The suspense is intense and it accompanies the reader from one exciting page to the next. Richard Crofton has a great gift for storytelling and excels in plot points and character development. The Paladin's Message is well written with a plot that is unpredictable.
