Rebekah’s life at Grant High was nothing but pure misery. Being the school nurse’s daughter and living anything but a flashy lifestyle, Rebekah attracted as many bullies and foes as a poor girl could get in a school full of rich kids. The children at Grant High called her names, made fun of her, bullied her, and to make things worse, they always got away with it. Perhaps the worst part was that Rebekah could not do anything about it. But then, Rebekah’s love for the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe and a raven in her dreams bestowed on her something she had never experienced or had before in the form of power. Were the kids at Grant High ready for what was coming their way? Get yourself The Raven by Dani Lamia and Gwendolyn Kress to find out.
Lovers of horror novels underpinned with a touch of romance and blended with a gripping tale of high school life, crazy house parties, dates, drunken moms, love-stricken cops, mean high school students, nightmares, vengeance, love, and evil will love The Raven by Dani Lamia and Gwendolyn Kress. The urban storyline coupled with the colorful descriptions of the events made the plot appear to be a contemporary Hollywood horror movie. The depictions of the feelings of the participants in an elegant yet down-to-earth way had me riding an emotional rollercoaster. It broke my heart to imagine the agony Rebekah experienced from all the humiliation and bullying to which her schoolmates subjected her. This is a magnificent piece of work and I loved it.
