There is beauty all around us, and it’s soothing. Imagine the stars in the night sky and the gentle sound of the waves. It’s all very calming. In Clare Hollywood’s The Stars and Sea Are in Me, one can feel the simple power of the quiet language of both the stars and the sea. These poetic words will comfort as light imagery is shared, allowing the reader to pause and take in a breath of fresh air. The watercolor illustrations are simple yet powerful as they allow the reader to soak up the quietness of life, the solitude we tend to lose in the noisy world that engulfs us. When life becomes too turbulent, there is the reassuring thought that even the turbulence will pass and calm will return.
