In a truly lovely story of the power of the human/animal connection, The Story of Figaro: The Story of My Real Black Stallion by author Laura Luszczek is a wonderful telling of a story that will, in turns, have readers laughing, crying, and with hearts overflowing with emotion. Follow the story of Laura, a girl who loved horses from the time she was a very young child, as she works to purchase her dream horse, Figaro, a black stallion. The seller was uncertain that such a young girl could handle the big horse, but Laura was determined that she and Figaro were meant to be together, and she eventually prevails. What follows next is the story of their relationship, of their growth together as young woman and horse, and of the unbreakable bond that they share.
I so, so enjoyed The Story of Figaro. Author Laura Luszczek has done a magnificent job in capturing the beauty of the relationship between horse and girl. This real life story reads easily, and readers will definitely be hooked from the very start. In fact, the main piece of advice I have for anyone considering this book, besides letting you know that you should absolutely get this book, would be to have enough time set aside to read the whole thing from start to finish. This is a book you simply will not want to set down once you start it. I highly recommend this book to any reader who loves a great true life story or loves horses, and I certainly hope that author Laura Luszczek will consider writing another book in the near future. Besides having a gift with horses, it appears that she has a bright future in writing as well!
