The Strength of Love by G.L. Ross is the story of keeping faith and finding second chances when you are least expecting them. Rachel Thompson is a 26-year-old middle school counselor. She has seen a parade of her friends fall in love, find the love of their lives, and get married. She is tired of being always the bridesmaid, never the bride. She wants what they have. She wants a man who will love her, cherish her, and become her companion. She finds love when she least expected it. All too soon she is going to be the bride. But on the eve of her wedding, her happiness is struck by a destructive nightmare that never ends. Her dreams shattered, she moves to a new city, hoping to find happiness and love. But can she get another chance when her dreams were broken so drastically? Can she keep faith?
Bring out the tissues, ladies, because you are going to need them. This novel is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. You will root for Rachel and hope that her dreams come true. The characters are so real and relatable. I really enjoyed the way Ross wrote this novel. It was the perfect plot line. The dialogues were good and not too revealing. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat, cheering Rachel on, and biting your nails to find out what her future holds. The descriptions were spot on and very inviting. I could almost picture everything in my head as I was reading it. I would definitely read it again and again. A very good cover, too.
