The Sure Thing: A Pleasure Practice to Revive the Spark by Elena Auerbach introduces a weekly intimacy ritual shaped by Shabbat and built for couples who want a dependable way to reconnect. After years of missed timing in her marriage, Auerbach creates a set time for physical closeness that turns intimacy into a regular practice instead of a recurring source of distance. She shows how the idea emerged in the course of her first marriage, then in her later relationship with Bill, as she tried to listen to bodily signals she had spent years pushing aside. Auerbach explains how protected time can change the way a person understands desire and speaks about it inside a partnership. It treats intimacy as a lived practice that requires repeated return.

The Sure Thing by Elana Auerbach is a wonderful guide to weekly intimacy rituals, with the goal of helping couples create shared pleasure by setting aside dedicated time together. People in long relationships sometimes say the rhythm of their sex life starts fading after a while. Auerbach treats intimacy as something couples practice regularly, linking body awareness with scheduled partner time in everyday home life. The writing is friendly and easy to follow, turning somatic ideas into actions people can actually try. One exercise introduces the pelvic pump to help wake up physical sensation during private moments. Another section shows partners how to ask out loud so their preferences become known during intimacy. Auerbach writes as someone who has practiced this work for many years and combines professional training with personal experience. Couples wanting dependable shared time together are sure to find the weekly practice easy to fit into modern schedules. Very highly recommended.
