The Well is an action-packed thriller by R. Chapman Wesley. After stealing a deadly virus from a counterterrorism lab, Professor Anatoly Popov tries to find a universal cure following the Chinese legend of The Well. Just before his death, he leaves instructions to his apprentice, Commander Rex Lee, former Navy SEAL and scientist, who finds himself unwittingly entangled in an international conspiracy that endangers both his and his beautiful wife's life. Tracked by ninja assassins under the orders of a ruthless Russian oligarch, Rex and his allies roam the jungles of the Amazon searching for The Well. But when the trafficantes lay waste to the village of "The Unseen," Rex is fuelled by grief and vengeance. Stopping evil forces from acquiring the deadly bioweapon will require a monumental sacrifice. Is Rex up to the task?
Featuring vivid action sequences, mystery, and intrigue, The Well is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that action lovers shouldn't miss out on. R. Chapman Wesley places some well-placed curveballs you never see coming in this intricately crafted plot that surprises you at every turn. You will find it hard to guess the plot's direction until the very end. With a fast-paced narrative and a large cast of characters, the author ensures readers have enough to chew on in this meaty thriller that almost feels like watching an action blockbuster movie. You will find ninja assassins, betrayals, beautiful women, ruthless oligarchs, courageous heroes, and nail-biting action sequences. Basically, anything and everything you may want in an action thriller. Overall, I enjoyed the book, and I think fans of thrillers who love treasure hunt stories will feel the same.
