Through Thorns I Thrive - A Spiritual Journey through the Depths of Hell to Finding Heaven Here on Earth by Carla Lindgren Coates is a spiritually uplifting memoir. This book deals with the author's journey from depression and many negative events that made her lose her self confidence to a miraculous transformation that changes her thinking and life. The author shares the lessons she learnt during this journey with readers, motivating and inspiring them to change for the better.

The book can be used as a guide for those who need some kind of help and advice during low phases in their lives. Though the author's life is initially full of turmoil and tragedies, her transformation is really remarkable. The power of God is not overlooked and the author speaks about it in this book. Change is constant and that change should be within ourselves. The author speaks about transforming yourself using your own power and faith in God to heal yourself.
