With Together We Climb, the authors explore the root causes of poverty and the dysfunctional support systems that enable it. This book delves into the economic, social, and psychological impacts of poverty, as well as the lack of meaningful choices for a significant portion of the population. The authors introduce the four steps of the Mountain Model framework, along with the Navigation Approach, which includes three key elements. The book also examines the contemporary American Dream, the cost of poverty, systematic blueprints to eradicate it, and more.
This is one of the most in-depth analyses of poverty I've ever read. Drawing on experience and knowledge in their respective fields, Steven C. Taylor and Jason Janz present a comprehensive study of one of the greatest societal ills of the 21st century. Together We Climb should be read by most of today's politicians, community leaders, activists, and anyone else working toward uplifting the general standard of living. The authors are meticulous with their research and offer keen insights on the different facets of poverty and its influence on people. It's a complex topic that Taylor and Janz approach with much care and intention. The book is informative and very engaging. The authors use stories and examples to make sure readers grasp the broader implications of the subject matter. Highly recommended.
