Turtle Does Not Wear Socks: A Picture Book with Interactive Questions for Kids by Anne Woodhouse is a delightful read. In this joyous story, many friendly critters are introduced, such as a rabbit, frog, dragonfly, and more, while children are invited to play along with each of them. Young readers will show the animals how to dance, pray, identify colors, count, and many more fun activities. Bright and cheerful illustrations add to the exuberant tone of this playful story. In addition to practicing skills such as counting numbers and naming colors, children will learn interesting facts about the various animals depicted in the book, which will delight and captivate young readers.
Anne Woodhouse's Turtle Does Not Wear Socks is a wonderfully interactive book that will have children dancing and singing throughout the story. This lively book is likely to spark children’s imaginations and curiosity as the different aspects of animals and insects are revealed. This may lead children to consider how special and unique they are with the many ways they can move and express themselves. Young children will enjoy learning in a fun and relaxing manner. As each page offers a new creature to discover, as well as a way to interact, the story is entertaining and educational from beginning to end. I liked the fact that part of the story encourages children to say a prayer if they would like in any way they choose. This is a highly recommended read.
