Kevin Noa’s Two Princesses: The Triumphs and Trials of Grace Kelly and Diana Spencer is an interesting book that juxtaposes the remarkable stories of two of the most popular and influential women of our time. A beautiful and talented American girl is born in Philadelphia to an affluent working class family. She will go on to conquer the world as an actress and eventually becomes a fairy tale princess upon marrying into the royal family of Monaco. Lady Diana Spencer, on the other hand, is a member of an old aristocratic British family. She will be thrust into the limelight when she catches the attention of the very eligible Prince Charles, first in line to the British throne, at a tender age of nineteen. This is a book that intimately details the similarities and differences of these two remarkable women.
There must be hundreds of books written about Princess Grace of Monaco and Diana, Princess of Wales, but Two Princesses: The Triumphs and Trials of Grace Kelly and Diana Spencer by Kevin Noa still manages to be unique and original. This is because by putting together the life stories of these two amazing women, he points to the fact that they have a lot of differences and similarities as well. The book also contains many intimate details that I am sure a lot of readers do not know about, because too much tabloid news about both princesses created a very thin line between reality and sensationalism. Kevin Noa points out both the triumphs and failures of two of the most celebrated women in the world and, by doing so, the book comes out objective and factual. That both lives ended in tragedy makes this book touching and poignant.
