Tyree and the Not-So-Green Monkeys by Gillian Joseph is a fun and educational picture book for children. Tyree and his family flew to a holiday resort where the sun shone all day long. Upon meeting the hotel guide, Tyree was told that green monkeys lived there. This excited Tyree, and he couldn’t wait to meet them. So off he went with his bucket and spade. First, he stopped by a pond and asked some Koi fish if they had seen the green monkeys, but received no reply. So Tyree kept on searching and searching, until eventually he arrived at the beach with sadness in his eyes. Suddenly, Tyree heard something coming from the trees. Could Tyree have finally found the green monkeys? Or will he face another brick wall in his search for them? Find out in this adventurous book.
Tyree and the Not-So-Green Monkeys by talented author Gillian Joseph was a pleasure to read. The title was the first thing that grabbed my attention; I was just as curious as the main character to find the green monkeys. This will be great for keeping little ones focused on the storyline. The writing has been professionally written and set out in rhymes, which will help children follow along with ease. The illustrations by the talented Prabir Sarkar will also be a favorite with children, as they are colorful, vibrant, and eye-catching. The monkeys are adorable! So if you are looking for your child's next bedtime story, or for a boredom breaker on a rainy day, then I highly recommend Gillian’s wonderful book.
