In "Vampires: Don't You Just Hate Them?" Danny Carl Estes follows a brief period in the life and adventures of half werewolf Jonathan Barker from the time he meets a full werewolf who soon becomes his mate. Not being raised in a pack, however, causes him all sorts of problems as he goes against the wishes of the pack leader and his mate all in the name of trying to protect her from a vampire who wants her dead. Submitting totally to the will of the females of the pack goes against his grain since he intends to protect Jasmine even if she says no. Jonathan learns the hard way what it means to live according the rules of the pack especially when it is so contrary to his true nature. That is a secret, though, that he doesn't learn until it has already created so much trouble. Eventually, Jonathan comes to see how things have to be and, given his unusual nature, ends up with a lot more than he bargained for!
Vampires, werewolves and other surprises intermingle in this creative world Danny Carl Estes shares with readers in "Vampires: Don't You Just Hate Them?" Just like any different groups, the players don't always know who is on which side but the bottom line is that Jonathan intends to protect his mate Jasmine at all cost. In a quickly moving story, Jonathan makes many discoveries that are quite shocking but keeps moving forward with that one goal in mind - protect his mate in spite of the rules that say he should stay back.
