Vigilante by Joseph Riden is the story of a young cat as he goes about his day doing some incredible things that might leave you astonished. Fursome is a furry, handsome kitty that loves his scratch post and his human. While he has many nicknames given to him by his human, he is a mystery to most people who encounter him. Harold loves him and he loves Harold. To Harold, Fursome is a handsome kitty but for the stray dogs of the neighborhood, he is a menace that they must fight off. He is a vigilante, a hero for little kids. However, Harold has no idea what Fursome is up to and Fursome would like to keep it a secret. Can he make sure his secret mission stays secret?

What do our pets do when we leave them at home alone? I am sure not all kitties are vigilantes, but I am sure they like to go out of the house on some adventure and get back before we arrive back home. Fursome is an adorable feline who is your typical cat that demands your attention yet still wants to be as independent as he wants to be. The narrative is very smooth, the story is short yet it is very entertaining. I loved his reactions, his internal monologues and the way he seems to embody cats all over the world. I think readers who love cats will love this story, along with children who enjoy these furry friends.
