Waves, Wind, and Wisdom: Volume II is an illuminating memoir that takes readers on a journey to the beautiful locales of Port Isabel in Texas. In this book, author Keith Thorn recalls his experiences exploring the beaches of South Padre Island with his partner, Melody. Keith noticed the voice of the wind of Port Isabel during a quiet evening walk along the Laguna Madre. He encourages readers to choose understanding over contempt because it leads people to become who they hate. He advocates for savoring the fleeting moments of life rather than trying to control things that are beyond our reach. The author also shares stories about setting up camps and finding comfort and routine in temporary places, learning patience through RV living, and leaving our mark in places long after we've left them.

Waves, Wind, and Wisdom: Volume II highlights the valuable insights gained from venturing to new places, connecting with different people, and discovering clarity in moments of stillness. Author Keith Thorn shares some wonderful nuggets of wisdom in this captivating memoir that make you ponder. I especially enjoyed his musings about learning to go with the flow and how sometimes detours end up being more rewarding than reaching the destination itself. The book is part travelogue and part exploratory memoir, featuring deep reflections on life and new places. Thorn has an engaging way of delving into a topic, taking the reader along for an unpredictable ride, by the end of which you might feel surprisingly invigorated. I also liked how he captured the general mood and ambiance of Port Isabel. Recommended to wanderers, travelers, and those who like to contemplate life.
