Big dreams and bold questions fill the pages of this imaginative story. What Would You Do? by C.K. Willie is an engaging story for young readers. Told in playful, age-appropriate language, it asks a series of “what if” questions, inviting kids to imagine wild adventures—like taming lions, riding spaceships, or becoming superheroes—all while reinforcing the power of confidence and courage. The steady pace keeps readers moving through fun possibilities before landing on the heart of the story: anything is possible if you believe in yourself. The bright, lively illustrations bring every page to life, showing children of different backgrounds diving into all kinds of exciting adventures. The story encourages kids to dream big, trust in their abilities, and see that with a bit of imagination, anything can happen.

As an educator, I really appreciate the positive message of knowing you can do anything in What Would You Do? C.K. Willie’s writing is gentle but powerful, while being catchy and easy for children to connect to. It begins with almost extraordinary dreams before it turns to more grounded and realistic goals, repeating the affirmation, “I believe in me,” which is perfect for young children still learning who they are. It’s a great story to read before a discussion around questions like “What do you want to be when you grow up?” or “What does it mean to believe you can do anything?” in the classroom or at home. The images by Vaughan Duck are colorful and full of whimsy, but also diverse, offering visual support to the words on each page. This authentic, heartwarming story belongs in any classroom or home library. It celebrates imagination and nurtures self-belief with warmth and joy.
