Who's a Good Duck? by Barbara Belzer Adams is a heartwarming and entertaining story for children, based on a true story about a unique friendship between a woman and a duck named Steve, who cannot fly due to an injured wing. They share a special bond and have lots of fun and silly conversations together, making the woman smile, and both of them feel less lonely. Eager to help the injured Steve, she must come up with a plan to heal his wing and get him back to his family—even if it means saying goodbye. Sometimes the best memories are the fleeting moments and connections that will always have a special place in your heart, which is the true gift of friendship that will last forever.

Who's a Good Duck? by Barbara Belzer Adams teaches children in a way they can understand about the importance of friendship, kindness, helping others, and honoring their differences. They will see how friendships are not always ordinary, which simply makes it more fun. This story also teaches children the gift of imagination. The bright and animated illustrations by Mary Boyles Carr expertly capture the unique, friendly personalities of the two main characters and the natural setting. I like how the font changes sizes throughout the story, emphasizing certain words. The book is also great for teaching kids about onomatopoeia, animal sounds, and the unique habitats that ducks thrive in. What a fun and engaging way to learn! I highly recommend this story for all children to read and enjoy.
