Wrestlin' Christmas: (Sweet Western Holiday Romance) (Rodeo Romance Book 2) by Shanna Hatfield is a Christian romance that gives its characters a second chance. Cort McGraw just suffered a career ending injury as a steer wrestler and he isn't dealing well with the news. To get his mind off of his collapsing future, he takes a job working on a ranch with a widow and her son. K.C. Peters is in need of winter help for her ranch now that it is just her and her young son in charge. She's promised herself to stay away from men, especially single, eligible ones. But when Cort shows up on her ranch, that promise is tested. Cort and K.C. are drawn to one another, but each has so much baggage they aren't sure if a relationship is right for them. K.C. wants to get rid of the temptation of Cort, but her son has a different idea and works hard to keep the pair together.
This is a really sweet, very well written romance that will appeal to fans of this genre. Cort is sexy and stubborn, broken and sad because of his loss. K.C. is also suffering a huge loss and the two can help each other so much if they would just get out of their own way and see how beautiful their healing could be. I love the idea that a young boy could be the eyes that these characters need, bringing together a couple that is desperate for love, even if they are too stubborn to see it for themselves.
