100 Ways To Lose Weight: Proven Methods By Worldwide Experts by Leann Forst is an inspirational book which provides extensive suggestions on weight loss, mostly by dietary methods. Truth in an easy to read format is what is needed to reach out to the masses and educate them on food choices. For me, the proactive writing style is exactly what I would want to see in a book of this nature. I think the author has employed a good strategy in being direct in promoting the variety of options available and having handy categories to encourage people to add, swap or drop different types of foods.
Many readers may feel that there is a lot information already freely available online, but a lot of will power can come from being educated and having memorable tools. What I also admire about the book, other than variety in approach, is the extensive referencing to other resources and nutritionists, which should encourage people to do further research. Also, this book has sufficient technical detail to allow people to understand why each approach is useful and effective, and scientific studies are cited on many occasions.
The start of the book features a candid section on the author's own struggle with weight loss, and her moments of revelation are a sharp awakening to a healthier life. I think it is a useful reminder that excessive weight and unhealthy eating affects many aspects of life and has damaging consequences. I hope people will find her story inspiring, as I did, and be motivated to try their own creative combinations of food suggestions presented here.
