30 Days To Taming Your Fears by Deborah Smith Pegues helps shed some light on most fears. Everybody in one way or another is fearful of something, and this little book covers most anxieties, fears and phobias. The book is written in four parts: health and safety fears, relational fears, psychological fears and financial fears, one of the biggest, in my mind, in this age of economy. From the fear of heights, to being claustrophobic, flying in airplanes, to public speaking, one will find something in this book meant just for them. For those who want peace in their life and to overcome the fear that they live with, the author has addressed not only a bit about the fear but helps the reader to understand what their fears may be based on, as well as God's perspective on fear, how to respond to what would be a healthy fear and how to resist the unhealthy mind-stumbling fears that can get a grip on your life.

This was a fast book to read with each chapter not being more than 3 or 4 pages long. The author gave some great tips in each chapter on how to go about getting over your fears, but I felt like the chapters were too short and just an overview of each fear and those of the author. I, myself, suffer a few of the fears listed, and yes, I have tried to conquer them; but I feel like a deep seated fear needs to be dealt with deeper than what this book brings forth. I, also, feel it is hard to say exactly how long it can take one to get over their fears; thirty days may not be enough. If readers use the tips that are associated with the fears and the scripture references along with them, and will put more emphasis on God, they will learn to overcome their fears, their anxieties and their phobias. I feel like this self help book will help some to some extent, but others may need to dig deeper.
