Future-Ready Performance Playbook, by a collaboration of authors -- Will Lukang, Hiba Tanvir, Sanjoy Ghosh, Brian Fippinger, Jessica Javens, Eric E. Ebron -- leans into what professionals need when AI can produce information faster than organizations can absorb it. The book begins by treating inner regulation as a leadership asset, then asks what happens when people start using AI before they understand how it changes decisions. The answer keeps coming back to human judgment. Technology can produce faster output, but leaders still decide how people are treated and when an output deserves trust. They also turn to burnout created by permanent availability, then show how AI can absorb repetitive consistency demands while neurodivergent talent keeps room for innovation. Finally, the authors transition into lifelong learning and communication and helpful tools that let readers directly test their own leadership systems.
Future-Ready Performance Playbook is a seriously smart business book, and the contributors actually make AI feel connected to the people who are expected to use it. I'm an old dog who isn't particularly great at learning new tricks, so the whole AI landscape is an unknown to me. I feel a bit more equipped to take a stab now, and the authors make this easier by including things that can be implemented almost immediately. The standout to me is the NEW framework, which treats energy leakage like a balance-sheet problem and gives self-regulation that language people can genuinely use. The back-matter audits are excellent too, giving professionals a way to score their own leadership systems after the final chapter. This is accessibly written and easy to read, this has heaps of great leadership advice for everyone—even old dogs like me!
