Wolf Dreamer by AK Leach is a story about magic and prophecy that will suck you in immediately. Arden’s world has been turned upside down after she leaves her ex-husband. Arden is lost in a world that used to be the most familiar thing to her, and so she begins trying to rediscover who she has grown into. A night that should have been no different from any other is the one night that changes Arden’s entire world. Winter has been keeping an eye on Arden, and when he saves her from the shadows that hunt her, Winter introduces Arden to his world full of magic, mystery, and a lot of confusion for Arden.
AK Leach has set the ideal scene for the world of guardians and their magic in Wolf Dreamer. I really enjoyed how the relationship between Winter and Arden was slow to grow. As Arden grew into the new space she could start calling home and became more confident in who she is, her relationship with Winter slowly changed. The underlying prophecy really ties everything together, and I liked how it was not revealed until much later in the book. Winter being bound by magic was an aspect I really enjoyed, as it highlighted the significance of Arden’s role in his world. Both Arden and Winter are written beautifully, and their interactions always feel honest. Arden and Winter’s story is still evolving, and the cliffhanger ending made me squeal with excitement about a second book!
