Jay Payleitner does it again. He has written a very insightful and powerful book filled with wisdom and insight. In his book entitled 52 Things Sons Need From Their Dads, Jay gives bite-size nuggets of information that is thought-provoking and beneficial to every dad. This isn't a book filled with fluff; it is a well-written informational book that will help the dad to better understand what his son is going through, how he views life, and what he needs from his dad. There are scriptures to reinforce what Jay is trying to convey to the reader as well as a "Takeaway" following each chapter that will help each dad to put into practice what was being discussed within each chapter. The dad will glean much by skimming through the chapter headings, maybe reading a few that seem to hit immediately upon their father/son situation. However, there is great value in sitting down and reading the book from cover to cover as well.
Jay has expanded his 52 Things book series to reach out to every member of the family. This is a fantastic resource that every parent should have in their home, and every counselor as well as church bookstore should have them available to help the family become stronger. This is a book that will challenge each dad to become better, stronger, and closer to God in order to be the person their son needs them to be as an example and role model. This would be a great father/son banquet gift to give within the local church.
