Author Dawn Brotherton has taken her love for playing fastball as a child and her background in the Air Force to create Margie Makes a Difference (Lady Tigers) (Volume 2). Margie Makes a Difference is a part of the Lady Tigers book series. This series is ideal for children and teenagers alike. In Margie Makes a Difference, the Lady Tigers consists of Margie, Trish, Sally and Nikki. These four young ladies work well together as a team both on and off the field. It is the job of their three baseball coaches - Kory, Sam and David - to help them to become great at not only playing the game, but learning the lessons that come with being a part of the game. As a child growing up, Margie had to learn and understand the importance of a father serving his country. There are times when he is available to watch her play and other times when he is away. One day Margie's dad, Master Sergeant Edward Clark, is called away for a tour of duty longer than usual, but instead of sulking Margie decided that maybe she should try to make a difference.
