A man struggles to discern reality from illusion in the disconcerting psychological thriller, 90 Seconds From Sanity by C.J. Wilton. Michael Flannery is a lawyer who is very organized and in control of his life, but today is different. His day started off wrong with an unexpected meeting and continues to decline. Too late to meet his pregnant wife, Ellen, for her ultrasound, Michael turns around and goes back to his house to work from home. When his boss, Ben, calls and offers to represent him, Michael is confused and put out. Ben insists that Ellen has been dead for four days and that Michael is the prime suspect in her murder. Michael refuses to believe him and wonders what Ben's motive is for such a dastardly prevarication. Ellen is traveling to her parents' home in Wisconsin and is calling him every hour. However, when Ben arrives at his door with a file containing photos of a dead Ellen, Michael has to reconsider his reality. He is obviously having a delusion, but which one is his actual life?
In the unnerving psychological thriller, 90 Seconds From Sanity by C.J. Wilton, the main character is faced with two different realities. He must separate the illusions from his delusion to find what actually is real. This is a bone-chilling story containing a feeling of horror, comparable to The Twilight Zone, which always left the reader questioning what is real and what is fantasy. Tiptoeing on the high-wire of sanity, it is a convoluted story, with complex characters in an intricate plot. The author has skillfully created a story world where sanity opposes insanity, fluctuating and distorting the truth. Having to weed the reality from the delusion is worthy of a Hitchcock story. This is a scintillating novel, and I highly recommend it to those who are fans of horror and suspense. Due to the adult content, this is more suitable for mature readers.
