"9/11 to Global Jihad: The Grand Plan" by Don Gould is an interesting look into the current events that Americans and the World as a whole are dealing with. CIA Deputy Director Richard Armstrong is a strong character who is older (which is refreshing in a book) and he is the one who leads a global hunt for the villains.

The first thing I can tell you about Don Gould's book is that it is very complex. There are a lot of layers and if you are not really paying attention while you read, you will miss something. There are a lot of very current themes in the plots and a lot of political preaching. I personally did not like all of the messages that were given in the political statements; however, it did not really take away from the story itself. "9/11 to Global Jihad: The Grand Plan" is a really intense book that takes you down several rabbit holes in the pursuit of the bad guys of the book. As a reader I really appreciate and enjoy complex plots with twists that I don't see coming. I would recommend this book for readers who like deep thinking plots. If you are a reader who is just looking for something light to sit back with this is not the book for that. However, it is a book with a lot of depth and you can really sink your teeth into it, so if that is your kind of book "9/11 to Global Jihad: The Grand Plan" is a must read for you. I look forward to seeing what else Dan Gould may come out with.

I enjoy this subject matter and the book, my only hang up with the author on this project is his perpetual use of verbiage such as "my big handsome lover boy" "big guy" "my lovely" "my big stud". I could handle it if this was a romance novel but for this reading material I literally find myself cringing everytime I come to one of these quotes as they are over used and then some. Frankly it detracts from the overall theme. I appreciate some small usage of quotes like this but here there is too much. I generally get through a 500 page book in a day, this one has taken me over a year. I put it down and read a few others then pick it up again hoping the "terms of endearment" lesson, yet they don't. Mr. Gould I hope you write more novels of this genre but omit or significantly lesson the mushy stuff.
