A Fitting Finale by Tracy Gorman is a chilling crime thriller that will hold you captive once you pick it up. The notorious crime boss, The Boss, has been in prison for almost five years and there has been a dramatic transformation in Debden Estate. The crime rate and unemployment have never been lower. The officials are so proud of the regeneration and like to refer to it as an example of communitarianism. Debden Estate has become a model for the rehabilitation of a degenerate community. Once a resident of London, Emma Blake is now a journalist in New York, but she has been sent to do a piece on the regeneration of Debden Estate. Because she was familiar with its history and because she is part of the unmasking of The Boss, Emma was the perfect choice for the job.
Before Emma has been there twenty-four hours, a famous reporter is the first victim of barbaric torture and murder. Emma begins receiving warnings and these are soon replaced by threats. Now it is no longer safe to enter Debden Estate. Emma has a job to do, but the murders are becoming obstacles. The five-year anniversary of The Boss's incarceration is imminent and the murder count is rising. Emma is the one who escaped The Boss five years before when he was caught. Is she the prime target now? Who is the butcher and why has he started murdering now?
A Fitting Finale by Tracy Gorman is an exciting thriller story that will keep you on edge from start to finish. The story begins with a horrifying murder and ends in a blaze of glory. I recommend this book for those who love a good thriller and have a strong stomach. This is a real thriller and is not for the sensitive reader. The villains use torture with pleasure throughout the story. This is for a more mature reader due to the violence contained within.
