A Kiss and A Dare by Charlene Raddon is a humorous paranormal fairytale romance that will keep you laughing. Garen McTaggert has a unique passion for restoring castles. He needs to complete Castell y Ddraig, the Castle of the Dragon, by his wedding date to receive it as a gift from his fiancée's grandfather. Stressed by the sabotage that keeps hindering his progress, Garen discovers a garden with a hidden entrance. Upon exploring the garden, he notices a stunning statue of a girl, but as he admires it, he stumbles and hits his head. When he awakens, a girl who looks exactly like the statue is lying across him. Garen finds himself torn between his growing attraction to Gwenlyn, his engagement to Leeza, and the ongoing delays in his renovations. Will he follow his heart down an enchanted path, or will practicality dictate his life?
Charlene Raddon modernizes a familiar fairytale and adds her own enchanting twists in A Kiss and A Dare. The story keeps you engaged as Garen refuses to acknowledge the magic around him. Raddon masterfully weaves a web of suspense and sizzling attraction between the characters, ensuring that you remain invested in their journey. You can feel their frustration with Garen's stubbornness, bringing the characters to life. The author delights readers with every new discovery Gwenlyn makes; her simple pleasures and enthusiasm for exploring new things add a sweet charm to the novel. The ending is fascinating, and I particularly love the twist that provides a happy conclusion for everyone, well, almost everyone.
