A Night In Babylon is a work of fiction written in the Action/Adventure sub-genre. It is aimed at mature reading audiences and comes with a content warning due to the inclusion of explicit language usage, scenes of violence, and scenes of a sexual nature. It was written by author Michael West. This highly engrossing and emotive book tells the story of Geronimo and Kali, who are forced into working together for their survival when they are caught on the frontlines of a brutal war between the police and the militant Stay Ready Soldiers. What results is a war with the very soul of the City of Angels at stake.

Michael West has skilfully crafted both a most intriguing story and characters who you cannot help but root for. From the very moment I picked the book up, I found myself unable to put it back down again. West does a superb job of describing the setting in great detail, to the point where it makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the action with Geronimo and Kali. One of the things I loved the most about this novel is the quick-witted conversations between the characters. The use of dialogue serves to give us wonderful insight into the characters’ personalities without West needing to spend much time describing them to us. Overall, I would highly recommend A Night In Babylon to fans of high-octane action novels as well as those who like well-written and thought out thriller reads.
