When looking for introspective thinking and philosophical imagining, look no further than Edward Michael Tomasofsky's poetry collection, A Soul Whispers: Pictures and Poems from a Traveler. The collection itself is not very long, only a scarce 60 pages or so. However, the poems were very interesting, to say the least. I admit that at times some of them bordered on the absurd and crossed into the realms of insanity, but I believe that may have been the author's intentions. Everyone reads poems differently and although I was, at times, thoroughly confused by certain passages, I believe that these poems are intelligent enough and thoughtful enough to make a real impact on at least some of their readers.

The writing style and flow was interesting. As my preferred methods of poetry tend to stray to the classics of iambic pentameter, this was a stretch for me to appreciate, but eventually I did find a kind of flow that I liked within Tomasofsky's works. Overall, a very good read for those who like poetry. I would say that you should buy it online, as an ebook would make more sense than getting such a short paperback. The stories made me wonder what kind of a person Edward Michael Tomasofsky is in his daily life. He seems like the kind of man I would enjoy having a coffee with or sharing a row on a plane so that I could pick his brains for a moment or two and find out how he ticks.
