A Super Hero Surprise by Danika Gordon is an educational children's book. The book is about a young boy. For his birthday, the boy receives a super hero t-shirt from his grandma, but he claims he doesn't believe in super heroes. His grandma tells him that everyone can be a super hero, but the boy thinks she's crazy. But then the boy starts doing nice things, like helping someone pick up their dropped books. But what does that have to do with being a super hero? Read the book to find out.

I really enjoyed A Super Hero Surprise by Danika Gordon. The book is educational as it teaches the true meaning of a hero. The book is also inspiring because many children want to be a super hero, and the book teaches that you don't need super powers to be a hero. A Super Hero Surprise will give children ideas of how to be responsible, respectful and kind so that they can be viewed as super heroes too. The book also shows that it is important to say thank you when you receive a gift from someone, even if you don't like it. The pictures by illustrator Siera Tomczak are very colourful, and depict the scenes very well. The characters are all very likeable, especially the grandma, who teaches the boy a valuable lesson. The book is well thought out, and the author does a great job explaining what a true super hero is. I would recommend A Super Hero Surprise to all young readers.
