Mysti Parker is a wife, mother, and shameless chocoholic. While her first love is romance, including five published books and an award-winning historical, she enjoys writing flash fiction (the weirder the better) and children's stories. She resides in Buckner, KY with her husband, three children and too many pets.

A Time for Everything by Mysti Parker is the story of Portia McAllister, a Confederate war widow who lost her young daughter to typhoid shortly after learning that her husband had died in the war. Distraught with grief, Portia makes an attempt on her life that is thwarted by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law. So Portia makes the decision to leave her home and become a teacher to a young boy in Lebanon, Tennessee, who lost his mother. Her journey to Lebanon is short without much that goes wrong, except for a broken wagon wheel, where Portia meets her young charge, who has gone mute after his father's return from the war. Unsure of what to do, Portia lets her instincts as a mother and teacher help her young charge find his words and eventually bring father and son back together. Beauregard Stanford is not what she expected in an employer, but she continues to do her job and fight for the man to do what is right for his son while trying to keep her heart intact.

A Time for Everything by Mysti Parker is your pretty typical historical romance, but stands apart thanks to the unique plot twists that make the story that much more enjoyable. A Time for Everything has beautiful imagery and very realistic characters. The facts blended into the story match what really happened in history, and the story meshes and flows with the facts to make A Time for Everything seem like it could have really happened. The Author's Note helps supplement the facts that Mysti Parker used and goes on to explain that one man who played a prominent part in the story was actually a real man who fought for the same things he fought for in A Time for Everything. A Time for Everything is a beautiful historical romance that could have happened, and that makes it even more beautiful and enjoyable to read!
