Living the city life was Kentucky native Marcos's dream. Why not? There was nothing more beautiful than a bird’s-eye view of the Rockefeller Center at Christmas. The bustle of New York City streets, the intoxicating promise of financial success, the won-and-done atmosphere of completion. It was all anyone could want. Or was it? When Marcos is assigned the ultimate job challenge, he realizes that he is not where he needs or wants to be in life. His serendipitous assignment takes him to the Hamptons, the east coastland of obscene wealth. His responsibility? To acquire an appropriate property for his client’s building project. Unfortunately, the only piece of property meeting those expected dimensions is owned by Dani, the beautiful bistro owner who is determined to hold onto her family land, no matter what offer is thrown her way. As the cold temperatures invade Westhampton Beach, the holiday season heats up between Dani and Marcos.
A Westhampton Beach Christmas: An East Coast Series Novel by Robert Babirad is a sweet love story set in the picturesque seaside area of the Long Island Sound. Easy dialogue and vivid descriptions add to a comfortable flow of plot and format. While avoiding a stereotypical attitude for romance writers, I was delighted that the author of A Westhampton Beach Christmas is indeed male. Robert Babirad balances romance and reality with just enough conflict to make for a relaxing read to share with a sweet red wine. The perfect reading escape for a quiet evening.
