A Witch in Time by Catherine Kean and Wynter Daniels is the first book in the Cat’s Paw Cove series. In Cat’s Paw Cove, Florida, Luna cares for her cat Hecate, giving her brother a place to stay as he argues with his girlfriend, and searching for love that has her going in circles. Back in 1645, Colin sets out with his wife to live out his dreams of inventing, but his plans go awry when their ship encounters a storm and he finds himself in the water. When he awakens, he has washed ashore in the 21st century where he’s found by a woman with blue hair. Luna doesn’t believe the mysterious man on the beach is from the past but as she helps him search for answers, she can’t deny the truth or that the two have a spark between them. When someone breaks into the museum, they discover that someone else is after the ship that brought Colin to Cat’s Paw Cove.
Cat’s Paw Cove is the kind of place you want to visit, with a light and breezy ambiance that makes the entire town the perfect fit for a romantic and magical comedy. The town sets the stage for a unique love story that’s quirky and fun with a sweet connection between two strangers. The love story between Luna and Colin has a time travel flair that brings them together and a break-in at the museum takes the two on a chase that leads them to shocking answers about Colin’s past. The story is filled with charming characters and has a sweet romantic comedy tone. Each of the characters fits perfectly in the story with their cheery personalities which help bring this town to life and add to the magical quality. Even the cats have a special place within the town with their own special abilities - Luna’s own cat Hecate has a power that plays an integral part in the events.
The story weaves between two time periods with Luna in the present and Colin in the past before time travel brings them together. Colin is an inventor with big dreams while Luna is a romantic with a magical personality and, when the two are brought together, they find a spark that neither expected to find. Wynter Daniels and Catherine Kean have brought to life a unique and delightful town with magic cats, psychics, and a chance for romance. Romantic and light-hearted, A Witch in Time blends a little bit of mystery, a dash of time travel, plenty of romance, and a whole lot of magic.
