A Wizard's Sacrifice: The Woern Saga Book 2 by A. M. Justice tells the tale of Victoria, a woman gifted with extraordinary power, but like all magic, it comes with a price. She is on a mission of vengeance for everything that she has lost. Her world is a strange mix of wizards, magic, and alien beings, all living on one planet. They are at war with each other as they each try to take control. Victoria is dealing with her own inner demons too, as she comes to terms with her survivor's guilt and the trauma she has faced. Despite this, she still wants to try to do the right thing. When time travel is thrown into the mix, things really start to get interesting.

A. M. Justice has written an entertaining and epic tale with A Wizard's Sacrifice. The story is engaging and while it can take a little time to get to grips with everything, once you do, it really flows well. There is a lot going on and the mash-up of genres is unique and something I haven't read before. On the surface, they shouldn't have worked, but they do. The characters are well developed and I enjoyed reading Victoria's story. There was an excellent blend of tech and magic, with the old world meeting the new. I think A Wizard's Sacrifice would appeal to epic fantasy fans best, though some science fiction fans may be willing to give it a go if they are looking for something new. I would recommend this book.
