If you’re seeking a lively and engaging book that simplifies learning alphabet sounds and letter recognition, ABC: Learn the Alphabet with Catchy Rhymes by Adriana E is an ideal choice. It starts with a lovely “This Book Belongs To” page where a child can write their name, or an adult can do it for them. This is a wonderful way to personalize the book. Then, each page features one letter, shown as a capital letter, along with a catchy and playful rhyme and vibrant illustrations. All twenty-six letters are illustrated with animals or familiar objects. There is so much for young children to learn and talk about on every page.
I really enjoyed discovering this delightful book, and it made me smile. The full-page color illustrations are very attractive. Children will love all the adorable animal characters. My favorite pages were O for Owl and the yellow S for Sun. ABC: Learn the Alphabet with Catchy Rhymes is perfect for sharing one-on-one with a young child or reading to a small group of children. I can see it being used at home and in preschool settings, too. Children enjoy the rhythm of rhyme, and presenting the text this way makes it both playful and educational. The stanza lengths vary somewhat, but the book is easy to read aloud. Young listeners will also discover matching sounds and patterns in words, and can practice saying them out loud, like “bright” and “light” or “white” and “night” on the S page. I was also impressed with how author-illustrator Adriana E presents the page numbers, all encircled in color and in a clear font, so children can read and count the pages as they turn them. This joyful book is perfect for any young child’s home or kindergarten library.
