FBI Special Agent Juan McCormack had come so close. He had collected enough facts and evidence. All that was needed was to prove that his theory was correct. Seventeen murder cases in ten different states, all of them with astounding similarity. Living in a world run by cutting-edge artificial intelligence and computing power, McCormack believed one person had orchestrated the murders. Someone evil enough to take advantage of the inefficiencies inherent in the prevailing technologies. A serial killer. Proving this was important to McCormack since his career depended on it. However, the serial killer beat him at his own game. He hacked into McCormack’s system and deleted all his files, jeopardizing his credibility and costing him his job. So when Dominique Fydorova, the newest murderer awaiting trial, ticked every box on McCormack’s list, he saw a golden opportunity to clear the name of an innocent woman and perhaps reclaim his glory. McCormack helped Dominique escape custody and evade trial. With the authorities hunting them down and the serial killer on the loose, would McCormack win this time? Bryan McBee’s Abnormal Ends is a must-read for lovers of science fiction novels blended with spine-chilling horror, and nerve-wracking action, all based on a gripping tale of sacrifices, manipulation, tough choices, murder, running, egotistic sleuths, and opportunistic workmates. Paying just enough attention to detail to prevent the story from becoming bogged down, the author weaves an intriguing plot, treating readers to spell-binding and ingenious twists. The macabre tone of the plot kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat, turning page after page. The vivid descriptions had me feeling as if I was right there in the middle of the action, watching every scene unfold. The author explores the idea of superior artificial intelligence and computing power running the world of the future while maintaining a nostalgic link to our current lifestyle. The depth of the storyline allowed me to connect with the characters. McCormack is the type of maverick, daredevil, super intelligent, big-hearted protagonist you simply can’t get enough of. I’ve added this book to my list of favorites. I loved it.
