Greyse and Garbanzo Meet the Space Cats by Agnita Rose follows the adventure of two twin tabby cats in Paris. Greyse and Garbanzo have been given a fascinating tour of Paris by their middle-aged cousin, Pierre, a Ragdoll mix. Garbanzo shows off his physical abilities by scaling the Eiffel Tower. However, a trip to the Louvre goes awry when the Mona Lisa goes missing. Suddenly, Garbanzo finds himself captured by the guards. Pierre and Greyse rescue Garbanzo, and Pierre reveals that he is a member of the CLAW organization, fighting against the nefarious Dr. Fe Lyne. Meanwhile, a dangerous prisoner from another planet has escaped, and the twins and their friends are the only ones who can stop him and his forces.

As a cat owner, I absolutely loved this book. Action-adventure tales featuring cats as the main protagonists are like a peanut butter and jelly treat for me. Greyse and Garbanzo Meet the Space Cats is bound to be a hit with young readers. Packed with action, adventure, and intrigue, the narrative pulls you in from the first page and keeps you entertained until the last. Agnita Rose spins a captivating yarn, weaving a plot that is deeply engaging and hilarious. Greyse, Garbanzo, Pierre, and their friends all have very distinct personalities that lead to a lot of friction and drama. The dialogue is witty, and at times, laugh-out-loud funny. The illustrations by Marcin Piwowarski capture the narrative's light-hearted tone to perfection. Above all, this is a gem of a book for cat/animal lovers. If you enjoy action-adventure and cats, this will be right up your alley.

The cat twins, Greyse and Garbanzo, are on the prowl in Paris. In Agnita Rose’s story, Greyse and Garbanzo Meet the Space Cats, their holiday in the grand city of lights is about to get very challenging, to say the least. The cats enjoy their tourist outing, climbing the Eiffel Tower and viewing the masterpieces at the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the collection. The only problem is that the famous painting is missing, and Garbanzo is accused of stealing it. Did he? Or was it the complex plot of some alien Space Cat, a very powerful prowling feline that could threaten their very lives?

Agnita Rose’s early chapter book, Greyse and Garbanzo Meet the Space Cats, is an adventure that young readers will certainly love, especially those who are fond of cats. The language and structure are simple, making it easy for young readers to follow and improve their reading skills. Each chapter begins with an interesting illustration of what’s going to happen next. And I love the chapter titles – very catspectacular. There’s a chapter using the word “Catapult” and another one using the word “Catastrophe.” All very clever and something young readers will latch onto with a chuckle or two. The cat characters are well-developed and believable, with interesting and inviting dialogue that helps move the story along. The end of the book includes a list of the historic sites visited in the story. A well-developed story and a fun read.

The Adventures of Greyse and Garbanzo by Agnita Rose begins with the two sibling cats arriving in Paris for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Greyse and Garbanzo are eager to explore, guided by their cousin Pierre, who introduces them to the city’s wonders, including a hidden “Kitty Underground” metro system accessible only to cats. Their first stop is the Eiffel Tower, where Garbanzo’s thrill-seeking nature leads him to climb to the top, triggering a chain of unexpected events. What begins as playful exploration quickly turns serious when a mysterious mirror at the tower is discovered, allowing a sinister figure to enter their world. As the trio continues to the Louvre, they become entangled in a misunderstanding involving the missing Mona Lisa. Garbanzo is blamed and captured, leaving Greyse and Pierre to escape and figure out what went wrong.

The writing style in The Adventures of Greyse and Garbanzo is energetic and engaging, with a clear narrative voice that keeps the story moving. Dialogue gives each character a distinct personality, adding humor and warmth to their interactions. The pacing shifts smoothly between lighthearted moments and more intense scenes, which helps maintain interest without overwhelming younger readers. Agnita Rose uses descriptive details to bring Paris to life while keeping the focus on the characters’ experiences and emotions. Monotone illustrations by Marcin Piwowarski complement the story perfectly. The imaginative elements, such as the hidden metro and secret world of cats, make the adventure playful. Readers who enjoy stories about friendship, travel, and fast-moving adventures will find much to savor, especially those who like animal-centered tales with a mix of humor and suspense.

In Greyse and Garbanzo Meet the Space Cats by Agnita Rose, we follow two tabby siblings, Greyse and Garbanzo, on a vacation to Paris that turns into a wild intergalactic adventure. Things start easily enough when their cousin, Pierre, shows them a hidden, cat-only subway system. But the trip takes a different turn when Garbanzo decides to climb the Eiffel Tower. He accidentally opens a portal that lets in a hairless alien villain named Dr. Fe Lyne. From there, it’s a total whirlwind of a tale! Garbanzo gets framed for stealing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. He then ends up in animal control and has to be busted out by his sister and Pierre. The story jumps from a simple city tour to stopping an army of cat clones and a plot for world domination. Can a couple of house cats really stop a scary alien takeover?

Grab Agnita Rose’s Greyse and Garbanzo Meet the Space Cats if you want a quirky tale about brave pets saving the day. I’d call this fun story a fast-paced sci-fi adventure for animal fans. The pacing is relentless once Greyse and Garbanzo arrive in Paris, especially during the jailbreak and the street showdown scenes. I liked the dynamic between the feline siblings. Greyse is clearly the brains of the duo, while Garbanzo is the one jumping into trouble without a second thought. The secret agent angle with Pierre and the CLAW organization adds a very exciting layer to the world-building, making Paris feel like one big playground for kitty spies. The writing is entertaining, and young readers will love it. Plus, the illustrations by Marcin Piwowarski really helped to ground the feline cast in their beautiful Parisian setting. Lovely read. Very highly recommended.
