From the early years of Apple Computer to senior positions with Hewlett-Packard, the World Bank, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Janine has always found herself making an impact. Activate Your Money: Invest to Grow Your Wealth and Build a Better World by Janine Firpo is a non-fiction book on finances. It is geared toward women and teaches them how to handle their finances, everything from what bank to use and what stocks or bonds to get. Janine Firpo gives definitions as well as explanations on financial terms like ETFs. She uses stories of five different people to help show what they did and why they did it. She also gives you tools to take action and help you navigate your finances. She also has a website that has even more tools and information if you need it.

I thought that Activate Your Money by Janine Firpo was a real eye-opener. I loved that it could be for any age and for any stage you are at. I really loved the explanation of how to use the money to help causes that are important to you. I liked how she set up the chapters; they are stand-alone, meaning you can just go to a chapter you are interested in, such as banking, which makes it easier to navigate. I loved how she uses stories of different people to show how and what they did. I thought it made it easier to understand. I thought that the take-action points that Janine Firpo had at the end of each chapter were quite useful. I also like that she has a website to go along with it, in case we need more tools and information, and she gave more websites to check out to continue your learning. Even though this is written mostly for women, I think men could find it useful too. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for more help with your finances.
