Within a few weeks there are three bomb blasts in London, Los Angeles and Sydney. No explanation, no claim of victory, no blame, no reasons to bomb these areas, nothing. "Angelguard" comes in with a bang and keeps readers on a high until the last page. As survivors come together and try to find the reasons for what is going on, we are taken on a supernatural journey of good vs. evil, mystery, suspense, fast-paced action and thrills that tell a story of faith and hope in the world as it is.
I read the 'Left Behind Series' several years ago and "Angelguard" kind of reminds me of that series, because this book deals with the spiritual warfare and the forces of evil against those who live their life solely for the Lord. Even though it is fast-paced, I found myself going back and reading parts of it over and over again to make sure I didn’t miss anything, and understood just what was going on. I don’t read a lot of books in this genre, but I am very glad I chose this one. "Angelguard" is so intriguing and intense that I found myself frightened at times because of the evil taking place against Christians. The Bible says we are to put on the full armor of God, so that we can stand against the evil one. And that is just what this book is about, taking a stand for God, against everything that Satan throws at us, no matter how horrific it is. If you enjoy suspense/thrillers, you don’t want to miss this one. Ian Acheson writes an excellent story that will stay with you long after you finish reading the last page.
