As an Old Memory by Vic Kerry is an edge-of-your-seat horror story. It is 1956 and preparations for the Pinehurst Homecoming Dance are underway until it all goes horribly wrong and Charlotte McAdams is left traumatized for life. Forty years on and the Homecoming Massacre has never been forgotten. Over the years, strange things have begun happening to the McAdams family, strange things that only occur around the night of the massacre. The anniversary is just around the corner once more and things are heating up, especially for Charlotte McAdams. Something must break the cycle otherwise the whole family will be destroyed forever. But this goes much deeper than a massacre – could an ancient curse really be the cause of so much hatred and sorrow?

As an Old Memory by Vic Kerry is a thrilling tale that will send shivers down your spine. The chapters alternate between the present time and the night of the massacre, gradually building up the tension in both eras. It brings to light issues around in the 1950s, such as racism, that are still very much alive today, and there are some violent scenes in it – not recommended for readers under 18. The action builds with the suspense and tension as the story surrounding the massacre is laid bare and parallels are drawn with the same family in the current time. This story centers around racism and the evils it creates and it brings to mind the old saying “The sins of the father are to be laid upon the children.” Paranormal threads weave their way through this well-developed horror story with characters you will love to hate and those you will side with. Unputdownable, this book will command your attention from start to finish.
