Aunt Melissa's Honeybee Farm by Scot Barnett is an educational picture book about bee keeping. The book follows a young girl, named Louise, as she goes to visit her Aunt Melissa. Aunt Melissa runs a honeybee farm, and she teaches Louise how being a bee keeper works, what they wear, and what they do, and she also teaches Louise about the importance of bees, such as how they help to pollinate plants, and how they make honey. What else will Louise learn?

I really enjoyed reading Aunt Melissa's Honeybee Farm by Scot Barnett. The book is very educational, as it teaches how bee keeping is done, and the importance of bees. The characters are all very likeable because they are helping honeybees, a species that is endangered and needs more people like the characters in this book. The book is great, especially at this time, when saving bees is very important. The book is realistic, because there are many honey bee farms, and many people have seen honeybee farms. The illustrations, by Kimberly Root, are very well drawn, and provide a visual guide to bees and bee keeping. The pictures are also very colorful and realistic looking. I like how at the end of the book are definitions of words used in the story that children may not be familiar with. The book also teaches about how pesticides are killing bees. I would recommend this book to everyone.
